I walked my favourite walk to have my morning coffee every day, ran, worked, read a book, got some sunshine, napped, 1st birthday party, finalised our upcoming holidays and ate some delicious food.

It’s a public holiday & long weekend …and yes, I’ll still be working 💻

Small business life means I wear all the hats — nutritionist, admin, bookkeeper, tech support, marketing, content creator, chief dog cuddler (essential). It can be full on, but I honestly wouldn’t have it any other way 💚

I changed careers in my late 30s. Studied nutrition degree while working full time for the most part. It was super hard at times (hi, no social life), but it led me here — having met amazing likeminded friends, doing work I love, on my own terms 🙌🏼 Even if I work more hours than I ever did 😉

Big love to all the small business owners out there still working when the world’s offline. Happy Easter 🐣

DEXA Scans – A valuable tool beyond the numbers on the scale.

As a nutritionist, I regularly use DEXA scans to assess body composition — tracking muscle gain, fat loss, and most importantly, bone density.

This is particularly important for women in perimenopause and menopause, where changes in hormones can accelerate bone loss. While calcium levels in blood tests might appear normal, they don’t always reflect what’s happening inside the bones. If dietary calcium is insufficient, the body can draw it from the skeleton — slowly depleting bone stores.

A DEXA scan provides a baseline for bone health and can be an excellent tool to monitor changes over time — especially when paired with targeted nutrition, supplementation, and resistance training.

If you’re in midlife, lifting weights & interested in your muscle mass or body fat %, on medications such as semaglutides eg Ozempic or focused on long-term health, this is one test worth considering.
