The irony of trying to yoga my way through a chaot The irony of trying to yoga my way through a chaotic season of life.

I do tend to talk to clients about the overall load or allostatic load.

Training is a load. Work is a load. Renovating is a load. Poor sleep is a load. Even the things we choose to do and enjoy still require energy from us.

Sometimes we just need to wind it back. Am I doing that particularly well right now? No. 😂

I’m one week out from an event I’ve been training for, work is busy, the renovation is still going and I’ve been trying to keep everything else afloat.

The last week or so my body has started giving me a few little reminders that I’m getting close to the edge.

I know what that means.

So I’m getting through this final training week and the event, and then the load will reduce. Practice what you preach right 😬

More walks. Less long runs. Acupuncture. More recovery. More sleep. Less intensity. Less trying to fit everything in.

Because as my midlife ladies know, adjusting the foundations bring the symptoms back inline 🤍

Doing healthy things isn’t always easy. One thing Doing healthy things isn’t always easy.

One thing I often hear is, “It’s easy for you because you love exercising.” Honestly? Not always 😂

There are plenty of days I don’t feel like running, strength training or preparing a healthy meal. But I know that I don’t have to enjoy every part of the process to enjoy the benefits. Sometimes the journey can suck.

The same is true for so many healthy habits.

🥣 Eating breakfast with protein & fibre.
💧 Drinking enough water.
🥗 Planning meals ahead.
🚶 Going for a walk instead of scrolling or staring at the tv.

They don’t have to feel easy all the time.

Long term change is sometimes doing things when every ounce of you doesn’t feel like it.

If you find healthy habits challenging, welcome to being a human.
